Prof. Dr. Tejas Patel is a globally recognized interventional cardiologist known for his groundbreaking contributions to the field. Dr. Patel currently serves as the Chairman & Chief Interventional Cardiologist at Apex Heart Institute, Ahmedabad, a leading center for cardiac care. Previously, he was Professor & Head of Cardiology at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SVPIMSR), Gujarat University, Ahmedabad from 2008 to 2022. His international academic roles include being a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, USA, since 2013, and a Visiting Professor at Mayo Clinic, USA, since 2017.
Dr. Patel’s contributions to interventional cardiology have reshaped cardiac procedures worldwide. His expertise in transradial techniques and robotic-assisted interventions has influenced clinical practice across Asia, Europe, and the United States. Notably, he performed the world’s first-in-human remote telerobotic PCI, a landmark achievement that showcases the future of interventional cardiology.
